Marlene Ciatti's passion for art and design began in early childhood, where she enjoyed spending hours painting, drawing and working with textiles. As a budding designer, she continued her love of fine arts throughout her childhood and went on to earn her B.A. in liberal arts from the University of Arizona.

Marlene began her career in the fashion industry, where she developed her knowledge of texture, proportion and scale. In the mid 1990s, she returned to school and studied art, architecture and design at the College of Marin, before launching Ciatti Design in 1999.

Over the past decade, Marlene has refined her interior design skills working on a variety of high end residential and commercial projects, infusing each space with her hallmark warmth. She studies clients' homes and draws cues from their lifestyle for inspiration.

Marlene has sensitivity to her client’s individual needs and unique design goals. Her understanding of furniture style and expert application of color allows her to create extraordinary and timeless interiors.

Growing up in a home with beautiful, formal living spaces, Marlene’s work is grounded in traditional design with a twist. “From the fabrics you choose to the placement of a button on a pillow, every single detail makes a difference in the final composition of a room. At the same time, when you enter a room you shouldn’t just peer around the corner and admire it from afar. You should want to live in it.”

Marlene is an Allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
